You belong here

Does this sound
like you?

You lived through something — or many things — that were never given the space they deserved. And you've been carrying them quietly, alone, ever since

You've adapted, managed, and moved forward — but something in your body never quite got the message that it was safe to stop bracing

You understand your patterns intellectually. What you're looking for is something that actually shifts them — in your nervous system, not just your mind

The wound isn't new. But the willingness to tend to it — gently, with real support — might be

You're not here because you're broken. You're here because something in you knows you deserved more care than you received — and it's asking for it now

What I want you to know

This work is for those who carry
wounds that never had a chance to heal.

Trauma doesn't wait for a convenient moment. It doesn't care whether your life looks functional or successful or held together from the outside. It lives in the body, in the nervous system, in the ways you learned to survive things you were never meant to survive alone.

This practice is built for people who experienced something — childhood, relationships, loss, harm, neglect, or simply the accumulated weight of never being fully safe — and didn't get the chance to heal from it at the time. You adapted. You kept going. And some part of you has been waiting, patiently, to be allowed to finally put it down.

This is not a space for general stress management or professional burnout. This is a space for the deeper material — the kind that has roots, and deserves roots-level care.

"Trust your body to tell you what it needs. Trust your soul — you and your soul are deserving."

The healing approach

Healing that meets you
in the body, not just the mind.

Talk therapy alone cannot reach what trauma stores in the nervous system. My integrative approach combines evidence-based modalities to heal at the root — creating change you feel, not just understand.

🌊
EMDR Therapy

Works directly with how your brain has organized traumatic memory — creating deep, measurable shifts in how the past feels in your body today. Powerful for wounds that have not responded to years of talking about them.

🫀
Somatic Therapy

Your body holds what your mind has learned to bypass. Through somatic work, we listen to the intelligence of your nervous system — releasing stored patterns and building a felt sense of safety that wasn't available before.

🌿
Nervous System Regulation

Unhealed trauma keeps the nervous system in a state of chronic alert — hypervigilance, flooding, collapse, or a combination of all three. We work to restore the body's natural capacity to move between activation and genuine rest.

🤍
Attachment Healing

When early relationships were unsafe, unpredictable, or absent, the nervous system learns to protect itself in ways that follow us into adulthood. Through the healing relationship itself, those protective patterns can finally soften.

Trauma Intensives

Some material needs more than fifty minutes a week. Half-day and full-day intensives create a container deep enough for the kind of processing that changes the arc of your healing — not by rushing it, but by giving it adequate, unhurried space to complete.

"

I've spent years being the person who holds it together. I didn't know what it would feel like to have someone hold it for me — or that I'd be safe enough to let that happen. Within four months of working with Victoria, something I had carried since I was young simply changed texture. It didn't disappear. But it stopped running my life.

"

I kept understanding things without them shifting. The somatic and EMDR work Victoria does reached places that years of talking hadn't touched. My body feels genuinely different now — quieter. I didn't know that was possible for me.

Individual Therapy
"

I kept waiting to feel ready. Victoria helped me understand that the waiting was part of the pattern — the hypervigilance disguised as preparation. Reaching out was the hardest thing I did. It was also the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time.

"

For the first time in my life, rest doesn't feel dangerous. I didn't realize how constantly braced I had been — in my body, in my relationships, everywhere — until Victoria helped me find what it actually feels like to be regulated. Life is softer now. That is the only way I know how to say it.

Meet your therapist

Victoria Jenkins, LCSW
Your healing is safe here.

I became a therapist because I know something about the particular weight of keeping it together while something inside you quietly unravels. I know what it is to appear confident in rooms where you feel terrified. To give advice about emotions you can't access in yourself.

I hold a Master of Social Work with specialized post-graduate training in trauma, EMDR, and somatic modalities. I am EMDR certified and have spent over a decade in specialized clinical practice focused on trauma, anxiety, and attachment in high-achieving adults.

My practice is small by design. I see a limited number of clients so that each person receives something I consider non-negotiable: my full, unhurried attention. A therapist who knows your history and notices when your voice changes register before you do.

I believe in the body. I believe that intelligence lives there — in the held breath and the tight jaw and the chest that hasn't fully expanded in years. I know how to work with that part with precision and care.

"When I'm not in session, I'm usually playing with my pups somewhere, working in my garden, or listening to jazz or old school hip hop. I enjoy reading things that make me uncomfortable in productive ways. I'm a person first and a therapist second — and I think that matters more than most credentials."

Common questions

Your questions,
answered honestly.

These are the questions I hear most often — answered with the same directness I bring to the therapy room. No hedge language. Just real answers.

"You don't need to know whether you're ready. That's what the consultation is for."

— Victoria Jenkins, LCSW
Will virtual therapy actually work for something this deep? +

Yes — and this is one of the most important questions to address. Research is consistent and substantial: virtual therapy produces equivalent outcomes to in-person therapy for complex trauma, PTSD, and chronic anxiety. EMDR and somatic approaches are well-validated in virtual formats. What I can also tell you anecdotally: many clients find that working from their own home actually deepens the work. There's no waiting room, no performance. Just you, in your space, with full permission to be exactly as you are.

Do you accept insurance? +

Yes. Soul Deserving Wellness is pleased to accept the following insurance plans for Connecticut residents: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Carelon, Cigna, and Optum. If you carry one of these plans, we will verify your benefits prior to your first session so you have a clear understanding of your coverage and any out-of-pocket costs before we begin.

Private-pay options are also available for those who prefer not to use insurance, or whose plan is not listed above. All fee information — for both insurance and private-pay clients — is discussed during your free consultation, openly and without pressure. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Please reach out if you have any questions about coverage before scheduling.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't help. Why would this be different? +

A fair question that deserves an honest answer. First: not all therapy is the same, and not all therapeutic relationships are the right fit. If previous therapy felt surface-level or like you were doing all the emotional labor — those aren't failures. They're information. Second: if you've spent years talking about the same things without them shifting, there's a meaningful clinical reason. Talk therapy works at the level of narrative. Trauma lives in the nervous system. EMDR and somatic work reach what talking alone often can't. Third: the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most significant predictor of outcome. The consultation exists so you can assess whether this relationship has what yours requires.

How long will I need to be in therapy? +

Honestly — I don't know, and I want to be careful about anyone who says they do. It depends on what you're carrying and how long you've been carrying it. Many clients experience significant, felt shifts within the first 8–12 sessions, particularly with EMDR on specific patterns. The 12-Week Container creates a complete arc within a defined timeframe. Some clients choose to continue longer as the work evolves. I will always be transparent about where I think you are in your process — I don't believe in creating dependency, and if I think you've gotten what you came for, I'll say so.

What actually happens in the first session? +

After the free consultation, our first session is 90 minutes — a thorough, unhurried conversation about what's brought you to this moment, your history, your body, your relationships, your patterns. I'll ask things other therapists probably haven't. I'll pay attention to how you tell your story as much as what you're telling me. By the end, you'll have a treatment plan outline and — most importantly — you'll have had the experience of being truly, unhurriedly heard. For many women, this session alone is already something.

Is everything I share actually confidential? +

Yes. I use HIPAA-compliant video and electronic health records. Your information is never shared without your explicit written consent, with two legally mandated exceptions: imminent risk of harm to yourself or another person, and suspected child or elder abuse. Many of my clients are professionals in high-visibility fields who are particularly thoughtful about privacy. This practice was designed with that awareness — no waiting room where someone might recognize you, no record of you having entered a building. Your privacy is structural here, not an afterthought.

What if I'm not sure I'm ready? +

The belief that you need to feel "ready" before you begin is often itself a symptom of what you'd be coming to address — the hypervigilance, the over-preparation, the impossibly high bar you set before you're allowed to do the thing you actually want to do. You don't need to feel ready. You need to be willing. Those are different things. The consultation is free precisely because it exists to remove the cost of being uncertain. Come and see what this feels like. You can decide from there.

What is your cancellation policy? +

I ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without charge. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are billed at the full session rate, except in cases of genuine emergency or acute illness. I hold this boundary not to be punitive, but because the consistency of our sessions is part of the clinical frame — and because your time, like mine, deserves to be protected. I'll gently tell you: the sessions you most want to cancel are often the ones most worth attending.
